WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A PORTRAIT SESSION
What can I expect to receive
Each portrait session is unique. For your session, I will work to help you feel as comfortable as possible. I will strive to use the best lighting possible in each setting. I will direct some poses, but not all of them. My style is more lifestyle than posed. If it is an in-home session, I will artfully capture images that best display the client and/or family. Once the session has finished, I will edit the images with careful precision. Next, each client will receive an online gallery from which they can order. For a family, headshot, or senior portrait session, I will provide the client with an online gallery of at least 40-50 carefully edited, high resolution images. However, a newborn session tends to last longer, and I may provide closer to 70-100 edited, high resolution images to the client. Digital images and professional lab prints can then be purchased separately from the online gallery in an a la carte format, in a collection format, or the entire digital gallery. The gallery also provides the option to buy well-constructed canvases and metal prints.
Time
Headshot photo sessions last up to 45 minutes. Senior portrait sessions last 45 minutes and include 2 outfit changes. Family photo sessions last 45 minutes. Newborn photo sessions usually last between 1.5- 2 hours.
Dress
Dress for the session depends upon client personality and preference. I generally recommend neutral clothing without writing or designs. A few pops of colors is fine, too. Colors should be coordinated but do not need to all match. I am happy to help with wardrobe consultation.
